A great change in this intense heatwave!, July 24, 2011 By J. The cabin had an old through the wall unit that had burnt out years ago and had been replaced with an undersized window unit. The window unit had literally not kicked off the entire time we've lived here, our electricity bills were higher than they should be for two people living in such a small cabin, and the cabin was still stiflingly hot in the midday sun.
Unfortunately when we went began researching replacements for the through the wall unit we found out that that model isn't made anymore and we couldn't even really find any to fit the same sleeve, but we did find Friedrich's unifit models and this one seemed to fit the bill for what we needed.
After receiving it, we installed it the same day and in less than an hour after I got home from work to begin the install the unit was blowing cool air into our cabin. Our cabin now stays cool and the unit doesn't seem to be working too hard to do it. It is a much... Read more

It is reletively quiet, easy to install, and simple to use. I would strongly recommend pipe insulation for any gaps in the inside of the sleeve. Overall, my wife and I are extremely happy with this model.
